As we all know too well in Ireland our weather has the potential to make or break an event and thankfully the appearance of the sun really made the 2015 Picnic in the Park! As normal it was held in Marlay Park on Dublin’s south side, organised by the IVVCC and as a fundraiser for the LauraLynn children’s charity. It kicked off at 4pm with many of the early arrivals getting there from 3pm on and some stayed until 9pm or so.

Porsche Club Ireland was in attendance with more than 25 members bringing their motors out for the evening. There were Boxsters, Dave’s 928, along with most versions of the 911 including a lovely 30 year old black turbo looking great. As someone else noted, the weather certainly did bring out some really nice cars to play!

The bulk of cars were vintage and veteran categories and IVVC said that it was probably their best attendance ever with up to 300 cars there on the day. Each one paid an entry fee/donation and all monies raised went to the very deserving LauraLynn charity.

It was good to see many new club members there as indeed it was to have club family members, some as young as just a few months! Good to see the pipeline for future new members is strong. We arranged for lots of pizza (maybe even more for next year?) along with cold drinks and other snacks. People brought BBQs too and the aromas’ wafting over us was just mouth-watering…..

Seems that everyone enjoyed the afternoon and evening, so here's to next year!
