Southern Region Midsummer’s Run was held on one of the most glorious days of the year, we departed Travelodge on the Kinsale road. Eight Porsches in all, as we were joined by Ronan and his wife Loraine in his beautiful white SC Targa. They had the good luck of being holidaying in Cork for a few weeks. The route as planned by Mel was Geragh ,Dunmanway, Bantry , and finally Mizen Head.

We stopped for lunch at Mizen head and attracted a few locals . We were also joined by Francis & Patrick en route so we increased our number to Nine ! I was taken aback to note that one member had made the trip in a Porsche , but had an engine in the back ( yes a real one) as well as the front , so I’m wondering was it really 9 ½ Porsches in spirit ?

On the way back it was to Scull, Skibbereen, Clonakilty and Bandon, to Cork.

We did stop in Scull to chat to the locals and Hydrate !

All in all, a total of 270 km’s in blistering heat in stunning West Cork, over 5 hours behind the wheel, and a truly memorable run !

Thanks everyone for turning up!
