PCGB Region 27 Open Day at Shane's Castle, County Antrim

Daragh and I attended this event on June 5th and I think we were the only attendees from PCI. I have only gotten around to uploading some pictures now. We really enjoyed the day and were made very welcome by Alan Welshman and other R27 members.

We are arrived in Shane's Castle about 11:30 and it is a beautiful location by the edge of Lough Neagh. I believe this is the third year they have held the event in this location. When I arrived they had just started judging the concours event, which for me it was probably just as well I didn't enter, given the very well turned out cars who had been there from early morning as well as the front of my car looking like a weapon of mass destruction for bugs!

The Mercedes club also participated and they had an interesting collection of old and new cars. Agnews came along with the new model Cayenne (which is a big improvement over the older model, both from the exterior and interior, I should know, I had one once), but for some reason Paul and Steven didn't want me to take it for an off road test around the park. They had a Panamera, which I think is always more impressive to be seen up close. I was also taken by a 997 turbo cabriolet in cobalt blue.....

They had catering on site, activities for the young ones including face painting, even Alan got his face painted! There was an interesting collection of trade stands.

They had 194 cars in attendance and were able to donate £600.00 to the children's cancer charity
